Why aren’t the links in my outgoing WhatsApp messages clickable?

The Case

You sent an outgoing message to the end user containing a hyperlink but the message text is not showing any link, just plain text.

Steps To Take

Step 1: Verify the WhatsApp sender

Each WhatsApp sender must have a phone number approved by WhatsApp (which was not used for WhatsApp before). It also has to be registered as a sender. The end result is a display name shown as a contact, with the green badge for verification.

Step 2: End user must have the business added to their contacts

In case your sender is not verified and the end user has not added your business as a contact, the end user will receive the links you send in the form of plain text and not a clickable link.
