What is the price for WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is charged per conversation, not per individual message. Conversations are 24-hour message threads between you and your customers. They are opened and charged when messages you send to customers are delivered.

Conversations are divided into 4 categories that reflect the key use cases.

Business-initiated conversations:

  • Utility – Inform customers about ongoing transactions, including post-purchase notifications and regular updates on billing statements.
  • Authentication – Enable businesses to authenticate users with one-time passcodes (OTP), used for login, account verification, or account recovery. 
  • Marketing – Include promotions or offers, informational updates, or invitations for customers to respond or take action. A marketing conversation is any conversation that does not qualify as utility or authentication.

User-initiated conversations:

  • Service – Used to help customers resolve issues.
