What is WhatsApp Business Calling
WhatsApp Business Calling lets users connect with your business through live voice calls directly from their WhatsApp app. Your business can also initiate calls that ring into WhatsApp without requiring users to switch channels or install additional software.
You can use your existing WhatsApp sender ID. No additional infrastructure, phone numbers, or country-specific lines are needed.
This feature enables seamless, real-time communication while keeping a trusted and consistent experience across messaging and calling.
Types of WhatsApp Business Calling
WhatsApp Business Calling includes two main types of calls, depending on who initiates the interaction.
- End users initiate the call by interacting with your business in WhatsApp. They can tap the voice icon in the chat interface or select a call button in a message. This is referred to as user-initiated calling.
- Your business can initiate a call to a user after the user has granted permission. This is referred to as business-initiated calling. Permission requests are sent through messages and must follow Meta's opt-in and usage rules.

Features
Branded caller ID
WhatsApp Business Calling supports branded presentation during voice calls. When a user receives a call from your verified WhatsApp sender, their screen displays your business name, verified badge, and logo. This trusted caller ID helps users instantly recognize your business and improves call visibility.
Branded caller ID can increase answer rates by making calls appear legitimate and expected. It also supports a consistent customer experience across messaging and voice channels, reinforcing your brand identity within the app interface.
